Lumagic is an adaptive HDR processor for down-, up- and cross-conversion with automated grading. Supporting nearly all color spaces and log functions, Lumagic transforms almost any format into your desired output—just set input and output, and it delivers optimal results.
Lumagic always preserves as much scene contrast range as necessary, but as little as possible, to give the best possible representation of a particular scene. Comparable to classical data compression technologies, Lumagic uses irrelevance reduction technologies – based on the human visual system – to reduce the scope of the scene contrast range. The best compromise between a high contrast range and steep gradation is found depending on the content. More on this technique is processed on multiple (spatial) sections, leading to homogenization and enhancement of local contrast. Highlights are shaded so they are not blown out. Shadows are lifted so they are not 'crushed'. This allows the viewer to see what is happening in all parts of the image.
